Perfect for Reason

This is such a simple and cool little controller I use for Reason. Yes you can use it for Redrum and triggering samples as well. It has a small enough footprint that I can keep it on my mix desk and map controls to it that I used to use the mouse for in Reason. If you don't know anything about Midi you may find a slight learning curve. Generally you should be able to just plug and play the device, but I found initially (as many others have as I found) there can be some nuances getting this to trigger Reason seamlessly. Once you get the basics though you can do it on the fly. Pad have great responsiveness.

the TF is a good piece its was kind of hard to figure in the beging but atfer you learn it its amazing what it can do.I use this thing with live,reason,and batter3 and wire it all to live.really good to have when throwing in samples or drum patterns.the next step is the mpc 1000

This unit feels very solid. Installation is plug and play on the Mac, and the pads are nice and sturdy. You can store a decent number of presets which should cover most of the DAW situations you'll need. I'm using this mostly in conjunction with BFD in Digital Performer and find that this combination is very sweet. It is easy to reprogram an individual pad to another sound, so you can replace things in the 16 pads if the situation calls for it. Saving presets and setting them up is simple with the software utility (Enigma) that is included. Plus Enigma works for other M-Audio devices you might have.
