The NTK changes everything!
The RODE NTK large-diaphragm tube condenser mic sits squarely in the "far more than you expect for money" category. The NTK can more than hold its own against sought-after vintage microphones that cost several times as much. The NTK uses an externally polarized capsule with a twin-triode 6922 tube. Combining rich, natural sound characteristics with a touch of vintage vibe, the NTK brings you the best of the classic and modern sonic worlds. The mic's gentle presence boost makes everything sound good, especially vocals, and the tone really opens up as you hit the capsule with more level.
RODE NTK Features:
- Cardioid
- 20Hz-20kHz
- Max SPL: 158dB
- Power Supply
- 30' Multicore Cable
- M2 Standmount plus 3/8"-5/8" Thread Adaptor

GREST MIC by James Wood from Chattanooga, TN, May 16, 2009 Music Background: Dj/Producer
“I've used this mic for about 5 years! I have been blown away ever since. I record rnb & pop vox on it, but will say its also great for acoustic guitars too. I use it with the presonus Eureka preamp. Great combo & the Heart of my Studio

"The NTK delivers the smooth sound of a tube microphone at an outstanding price. For anyone looking at condenser microphones in this price range, this is the perfect way to get into a warm sounding tube for vocals and many acoustic instruments as well."

"While most would understandably be interested in the NTK as a vocal mic, and it is a good one, it makes a great all-around mic for many purposes. Recently I used one on a bass guitar cabinet. After trying several other high quality dynamic and condenser mics first the NTK was the one that brought the proper balance of articulation, low end, and warmth to the track. Great all around mic."

"Besides being an overall great sounding tube condenser microphone, the NTK is extremely versatile. I've gotten great results using it to record an upright bass, speaker cabinets, acoustic guitars, and of course vocals. I've even used a pair of NTKs as drum overheads and they sounded fantastic! At this price you can't afford to not include the NTK in your microphone arsenal."
