A Commitment to Treating Employees Right
|
|
|
Our company motto might well be "Do the Right Thing for the Customer." It's the core foundation of our Sweetwater Difference. The same holds true for the environment we provide for our employees. We strive to do the right things to facilitate a high energy, high-performance culture that's stimulating and fun to be a part of. Even with Sweetwater's remarkable growth, the workplace maintains a "small company" feel and a personalized, family oriented philosophy. This is exemplified by group activities not just for employees, but that also include their family members. Some activities might include picnics, trips to amusement parks or sporting events, lunch with Santa for the employees' children, a phenomenal Holiday party every January, and turkeys provided for each family at Thanksgiving. There's on site laundry pick up and, speaking of pick ups, there's even a weekly pick up basketball game when the weather's right. Our brand-new headquarters takes these employee amenities to an even higher level with a health club, racquetball court, DVD movie lending library, postal services, an atrium food court with outdoor dining, game arcade, and even a Concierge.
The Passion for Music Continues After Hours
In their free time, Sweetwater employees pour their creative energies into a wide variety of music and audio projects: personal studios, bands, jam sessions, worship groups and church music, sound engineering and more are prevalent. Our team members come to live and work in Fort Wayne from all over the country, and their diverse backgrounds are evident in their many and varied outside activities. Many get involved in community projects, in which the Company also takes a very active role. When you tell people in the community that you work for Sweetwater, you are inevitably greeted with a smile and a shower of compliments. That feels good. It breeds pride.
Our Greatest Asset
Why is doing the right thing for employees such a big deal for us? People here work hard, but they are also passionate and positive about what they do. We like to think that our biggest asset is each other, and that the unique environment that comes from working around bright, creative people who share a passion for music and how it's made is a huge part of our continuing success. We're both humbled and stimulated by each other's talents. Here at Sweetwater, the sum of the parts make up a pretty terrific whole.
All sound too good to be true? It's not. It's a little slice of music heaven called Sweetwater, right here in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Sweetwater recently won the 2006 Torch Award from the Northeastern Indiana chapter of the Better Business Bureau for
Integrity, Ethics, and Doing the Right Thing for both its customers and employees. |
